These birch bookcases were part of the entire remodeling of a condominium near Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. The clean lines of the bookcases echo the full-lite glass passage and closet doors and trim used throughout the home. While the cabinets are made of birch plywood, the shelves and facing are all solid wood. By using solid wood for the shelves, we virtually eliminate the chance that they will sag. A scribed molding around the top of the bookcases nicely blends away any ceiling undulations.
