We made this hand-carved sapele downsweep for a home near Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. After determining the rough size, we glued up a large block of sapele from which we carved this sapele downsweep. While the bulk of the work was done in the shop, the final fitting and fine tuning was done on the job site. Upon completion of the railing, we finished it with polyurethane.
