These rift sawn white oak panels encase a closet, refrigerator, and doorway in a home near Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. Working from a design by Shimi Zakin, we built these panels with the horizontal grain. The panel next to the light switches rides on FAD-54 concealed door hardware by Sugatsune to reveal a closet. The grain pattern is matched across adjacent panels providing a cohesiveness to the project. The finish is a clear conversion varnish.
