Rift Sawn White Oak Entertainment Center

This rift sawn white oak entertainment center was built for a client in State College, PA. To accommodate some ductwork, the two halves of the unit are different depths. The two drawers are solid wood made with dovetail joints and 1/2" thick plywood bottoms. They run on Blum undermount drawer slides with a soft-close feature. The upper platform was made as one piece with a removable panel that allowed it to be slipped around the chimney flue. The rift sawn white oak veneer provides a rather uniform tight, linear grain pattern without the flecking common in quarter sawn white oak.
