Quarter Sawn Douglas Fir Sideboard

This quarter sawn Douglas fir sideboard was intended as a display and storage area for the client's art collection.  Most of the doors slide on hardware from Häfele that is recessed into the top.  The doors are veneered with a quarter sawn Douglas fir which is finished with a clear finish.  The top is rift sawn white oak.  It was stained dark and offers a nice contrast to the Douglas fir.  The doors were all veneered from matching sheets of veneer so that the grain lines from door to door match.  The hand turned legs are also Douglas fir.
